The Role & Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant, you will provide essential support to the finance team, ensuring smooth financial operations, accurate reporting, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, invoices, and expense reports.

  • Ensure all transactions are correctly recorded in line with company procedures and accounting standards.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Support the processing of supplier invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

  • Assist with accounts receivable, ensuring timely invoicing and monitoring of outstanding payments.

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare routine financial reports, providing clarity on budgets, costs, and departmental spending.

  • Assist in the analysis of financial data to support management decision-making and process improvements.

Compliance and Audit Support

  • Help maintain compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate records and documentation.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to the development of enhanced reporting tools and procedures.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A relevant accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or part-qualified) is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or general accounting support.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
