Toolkit Tutors is seeking a motivated Algebra I & Living Environment Tutor to provide in-person academic support to high school students in Brooklyn, helping them prepare for the Regents exams. The role focuses on delivering small-group instruction, tailoring lesson plans to meet diverse student needs, and tracking academic progress. Key duties include:
- Conducting one-on-one and small-group tutoring sessions in Algebra I and Living Environment.
- Designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that support varying learning styles, including ENL students.
- Monitoring student understanding and progress, providing feedback to teachers, parents, and students.
- Using a range of instructional tools and strategies to improve student engagement and comprehension.
- Collaborating with school staff to maintain an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
- Participating in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Prior experience tutoring or teaching high school math and Living Environment.
- Familiarity with New York State Regents exams for Algebra I and Living Environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Competitive hourly pay ranging from $28–$30, depending on experience.
