Key Duties

Seminole State College of Florida is seeking motivated Adjunct Faculty to teach Chemistry courses to support student learning and success. Faculty members will plan, organize, and instruct courses in alignment with college curriculum goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and delivering in-person classes using strategies that enhance student engagement, retention, and mastery of competencies.

  • Participating in curriculum improvement initiatives alongside other faculty to strengthen student outcomes.

  • Maintaining records of student performance, grades, and attendance, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Utilizing technology and innovative teaching methods to support diverse learners in a multicultural environment.

  • Exhibiting professional conduct and effective communication with students, colleagues, and administration.

  • Adapting to varying campus assignments, schedules, and class sizes based on enrollment needs.


Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Chemistry from a regionally accredited institution or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Environmental Science, Food Science, Forensics, Pharmacy, or a related field.

  • Familiarity with student-centered, learning-focused teaching approaches is preferred.

  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.

  • Commitment to quality instruction and maintaining a positive, respectful classroom environment.
