Key Duties

Broward College seeks a knowledgeable and dedicated Adjunct Instructor for the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) program. The role involves teaching ESL courses with a focus on preparing students for academic success in college-level coursework. The instructor will:

  • Deliver lessons across all language modalities including listening, speaking, reading, writing, and grammar in a communicative, student-centered environment.

  • Design and implement course materials and assessments that meet program objectives and learner outcomes.

  • Integrate instructional technology into classroom instruction and homework to extend learning beyond the classroom.

  • Maintain accurate records, including grading and attendance, and complete administrative tasks using tools such as Workday and SharePoint.

  • Collaborate with colleagues in the EAP program community to enhance curriculum and share best practices in second language acquisition.

  • Support students in achieving academic language proficiency and preparing for general college coursework.


Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 graduate credits in TESOL, Linguistics, or a closely related field.

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. strongly preferred.

  • Experience teaching English as a Second Language, preferably in a higher education setting.

  • Competency in integrating technology into instruction, including digital learning platforms and online resources.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, student-focused environment.


Pay & Benefits

  • Compensation: $1,950 – $2,130 per course, based on qualifications and experience.
