Key Duties

The ACEOPS Administrator will manage and maintain Linux-based systems supporting a complex software development environment. This role is responsible for daily operations, system backups, recovery, and ensuring overall infrastructure security. Responsibilities include:

• Operating, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers and related applications.

• Monitoring backups and performing routine restoration tests to ensure data integrity.

• Responding to security incidents, virus threats, and system anomalies.

• Creating and maintaining server documentation, system administration processes, and user accounts.

• Installing patches, security updates, and antivirus definitions across Linux systems.

• Managing storage devices, server images, and system enhancements to optimize performance.

• Assisting with desktop deployments and ensuring endpoint compliance with security policies.

• Supporting help desk operations as needed to resolve end-user technical issues.

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.

• Security+ Certification.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related STEM field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 5 years of experience managing Linux/Windows systems in a professional IT environment.

• Strong understanding of Linux server and desktop administration, patch management, and system security.

• Ability to work on-site full time at Schriever SFB; occasional travel or off-hours work may be required.

• Strong problem-solving, documentation, and organizational skills.
