Key Duties

The Access Services Representative 2 ensures accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and financial clearance while supporting multiple areas within the healthcare system. Responsibilities include:

• Conducting patient interviews to collect demographics, insurance, and financial information.

• Verifying eligibility and benefits, calculating patient responsibility, and collecting payments according to policy.

• Assisting patients with directions, personal escorts, or mobility needs, including wheelchairs.

• Collaborating with other departments to communicate scheduling updates, delays, or patient needs.

• Participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance the patient experience and revenue cycle functions.

• Serving as a mentor or trainer for peers, providing formal and informal guidance on registration and financial procedures.

• Performing cashiering duties and maintaining compliance with patient identification, cash handling, and safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare or customer service.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with professional telephone etiquette.

• Ability to remain calm and empathetic in stressful or emotional situations.

• Capable of handling multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry.

• Commitment to delivering excellent patient-centered service.
