Al Ain British Academy (AABA) is seeking a passionate and skilled Associate Professor of Arabic to inspire young learners through dynamic instruction, curriculum innovation, and cultural enrichment. The Role & Responsibilities

As an Associate Professor of Arabic at AABA for AY 25–26, your role will encompass teaching, curriculum development, and community-building.

Teaching & Lesson Delivery

  • Deliver engaging Arabic lessons across primary and secondary levels, ranging from language acquisition to literature, instilling cultural pride and linguistic fluency.

  • Utilise diverse instructional strategies—gamified learning, project-based tasks, and cross-cultural explorations—to inspire deep understanding and enjoyment.

Curriculum Design & Enhancement

  • Customize the British curriculum to integrate UAE cultural context, ensuring Arabic lessons are meaningful, relevant, and aligned with national standards.

  • Innovate assessment methods, including oral presentations, creative writing, and collaborative learning tasks, to enhance student engagement and reflect a modern approach.

Student Development & Mentoring

  • Encourage character-building—promoting respect, responsibility, and resilience as part of AABA’s holistic approach to education.

  • Support learners individually, including those needing extra help or enrichment, to ensure every student realizes their potential.

Community Engagement & Cultural Activities

  • Organize Arabic cultural events or literary experiences—such as story festivals, poetry readings, or storytelling clubs—to bring the language alive beyond the classroom.

  • Collaborate with parents and staff, fostering a strong partnership to support language learning and cultural appreciation at home and in school.

Professional Collaboration

  • Engage in professional development and contribute to Arabic curriculum planning, sharing best practices across the Aldar Academies network Aldar Academies.

  • Support the Academy of Excellence pathways, mentoring students towards advanced achievements in public speaking, media literacy, or cultural research Aldar Academies.


Qualifications

Required Academic & Professional Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Education, Arabic Language, Literature, or a closely related discipline.

  • Teaching qualification and experience within the British National Curriculum or comparable international systems.

Teaching Experience

  • Proven experience delivering Arabic curriculum to international or British-program students, with demonstrated success in student engagement and achievement.

  • Passion for Arabic language education, with a commitment to cultural authenticity and high academic standards.

Interpersonal Skills & Cultural Awareness

  • Strong communication skills in both Arabic and English, creating inclusive learning experiences for diverse audiences.

  • Empathy, creativity, and adaptability in teaching, with the ability to motivate students and build a positive classroom community.
