The Role & Responsibilities

The Accounting & Financial Reporting Assistant will provide vital support to the finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and assisting with accounting processes across multiple client accounts. This role requires attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy professional services environment.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare accurate financial statements, management accounts, and reports for clients, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

  • Support the team in analysing financial data to provide insights and recommendations for internal and client stakeholders.

Accounting Support

  • Assist in the preparation of ledgers, reconciliations, and journal entries, ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and compliance activities.

Audit Assistance

  • Work closely with audit teams to provide documentation, explanations, and schedules required for client audits.

  • Ensure timely responses to queries and support the audit process efficiently.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and reporting processes, contributing to improved efficiency and accuracy.

  • Assist in implementing best practices for financial reporting across client accounts.

Team Collaboration

  • Support senior accountants and managers in daily accounting operations.

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high standard of client service and internal support.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

  • Professional accounting qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) are desirable or in progress.

  • Experience with financial reporting, accounts preparation, or audit support is advantageous.

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and numerical accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities, capable of managing multiple tasks.
