ENGIE is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Timekeeper to join its operations team in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate labor data, workforce scheduling, and compliance with organizational and project requirements. The successful candidate will support project managers and supervisors by monitoring time-related records, preparing accurate reports, and acting as the bridge between staff, administration, and project leadership.

The Role & Responsibilities

The Project Timekeeper serves as a vital member of ENGIE’s on-site project administration team. This role ensures that accurate labor and project time data is captured, verified, and communicated to management for operational and financial decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

Daily Timekeeping and Attendance Tracking

  • Record, monitor, and verify the daily attendance of employees assigned to the project site.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding work hours, overtime, and leave.

  • Provide immediate alerts to supervisors when discrepancies or irregularities are identified.

Payroll and Data Coordination

  • Compile timekeeping data for payroll processing in coordination with HR and finance departments.

  • Verify accuracy of reported hours to prevent payroll disputes.

  • Maintain updated records for auditing and compliance purposes.

Scheduling and Workforce Support

  • Assist project managers in preparing workforce schedules that align with project requirements.

  • Track shift rotations, overtime approvals, and workforce allocations across different project tasks.

  • Support team leads by providing reliable data on workforce productivity.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly timekeeping reports.

  • Generate insights on attendance patterns, overtime trends, and potential risks to project timelines.

  • Ensure proper documentation for regulatory audits and project reviews.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Act as a point of contact between employees, supervisors, and HR regarding attendance-related matters.

  • Address inquiries on leave balances, payroll discrepancies, and work hours promptly.

  • Support continuous process improvements to make timekeeping systems more efficient.


Qualifications

To succeed as a Project Timekeeper at ENGIE, candidates must possess a combination of technical accuracy, administrative skills, and interpersonal strengths.

Educational Background

  • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred.

  • Candidates with specialized certifications in payroll, HR systems, or project administration will have an added advantage.

Professional Experience

  • 2–4 years of prior experience in timekeeping, payroll coordination, or administrative support, preferably in construction, engineering, or energy projects.

  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and payroll software is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office Suite, and time management software.

  • Knowledge of payroll processes, local UAE labor laws, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to generate accurate reports under tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication abilities to coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
