The Role & Responsibilities

As a Security Colleague, your primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and secure environment within the store. You will monitor activities, prevent potential risks, and ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Surveillance and Monitoring

  • Patrol Store Premises
    Conduct regular patrols inside and outside the store to deter theft, vandalism, or unsafe behavior.

  • Monitor CCTV Systems
    Observe security cameras and respond promptly to any suspicious or unusual activity.

Customer and Staff Safety

  • Assist in Emergencies
    Act as a first responder in case of accidents, medical emergencies, or other incidents, ensuring appropriate actions are taken.

  • Support Staff and Customers
    Provide guidance and assistance to employees and customers, helping to maintain a calm and safe environment.

Loss Prevention

  • Prevent Theft and Fraud
    Identify and address potential theft or fraudulent activity, working discreetly to maintain a secure shopping experience.

  • Report Incidents
    Document and report incidents to management accurately and promptly for follow-up action.

Compliance and Policies

  • Ensure Policy Adherence
    Monitor compliance with store rules, health and safety regulations, and company procedures.

  • Support Operational Procedures
    Assist with access control, stock security, and any other operational tasks as directed by the security supervisor.


Qualifications

  • Previous Security or Retail Experience (Preferred)
    Experience in a security, loss prevention, or customer-facing role is advantageous but not required.

  • Vigilant and Observant
    Ability to notice potential risks, unusual activity, or unsafe behavior.

  • Strong Communication Skills
    Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, customers, and management.
